Waiting for the ferryboat at Muara Angke seaport

An homage to Alfred Stieglitz’s “The Steerage”. Not that I really do understand that piece of work, though.

July 9th 2011, morning.

Overly-crowded passengers stood waiting for their ferryboats, right at the edge of the pier of seaport Muara Angke, north Jakarta, Indonesia. Most of them were local tourists who wants to cross the sea to spend the holidays at one of the island of Pulau Seribu (Thousand Islands), like Tidung island.
